Silres MK is a condensation-cured methylsilicone resin with good solubility in various organic solvents. The product can be used as a binder or impregnating agent for porous materials. Besides, Silres MK is an ideal material for the production of non-stick prepregs with excellent storage stability.

Compared to other silicone resins, Silres MK cures relatively quickly at elevated temperatures. It is therefore particularly recommended for automated production lines.

Fully cured Silres MK has the lowest carbon content of all WACKER silicone resins and therefore yields a very high pyrolysis ash content.

Composites made with Silres MK show long-term stability to weathering, moisture and UV radiation. They can be subjected to continuous changes in climatic conditions, UV radiation and temperatures much higher than 300 °C (572 °F). Silres MK also provides water repellency and excellent electrical insulation to composite materials.

It is used in the manufacture of heating elements, laminates and composites, as well as resistors and capacitors, as an impregnating agent for porous materials or as a binder for composites made of inorganic mineral materials or fiber-filled laminates.
