Auxiliary products
Primer (surface activator)
In addition to standard chemical products such as adhesive, sealant or grout, auxiliary products such as a primer (so-called surface activator) are sometimes needed to increase the adhesion of the adhesive, sealant or entcapsulant to the substrate. The use of a primer increases the bond's resistance to detachment from the substrate (peel strength). Skład Techniczny range includes, in particular, primers for RTV-1 and RTV-2 silicone rubbers, led by the iconic Wacker Grundierung G790.
Hardener for two-component (resin/rubber) compounds
Another ancillary product required for two-component masses is hardener. It is not always sold complete with the base compound. This is particularly the case with large packages, but also when several different types of hardener can be used for a given base compound (resin or rubber), e.g. one with a slower curing process and one with a faster curing process.
Catalyst / Inhibitor
With two-component masses, it is often possible to chemically adjust the curing process. Most often, adjustment is possible by changing the amount of hardener added. However, this method is only available to a certain extent, as changing the mixing ratio affects the properties of the cured mass. In extreme cases, it can lead to incomplete curing. With some masses (e.g. RTV-2 additive silicone rubber), it is possible to adjust the curing rate quite freely. For this purpose, either a catalyst (accelerating the curing process) or an inhibitor (slowing the curing process) is used.
Dye for two-component masses
Sometimes the colour of the chemical mass used is important to the user. Therefore, suitable colouring agents can be found among the auxiliary products, e.g. RTV-2 silicone rubber colouring paste.
