The constantly increasing demand from mass transportation and automotive industries for stronger cable ties leads to problems related to insulation damage caused by standard internally toothed ties, especially when the cables are subjected to vibrations. The outside serrated OS series cable ties solve this problem. The new solution offers high tear resistance, low tightening force, and a smooth surface on the insulation side of the cable, minimizing the risk of damage. The curved shape of the head allows for better fitting of the tie to the cable shape and reduces the amount of space occupied by the head. The tie, originally designed for the automotive industry, is used in many industries where thin or soft insulation cables (e.g. silicone) are used, especially in the aviation and railway industries.
